$10 thousand for Lakeview

An Oconee County rest home is getting a boost today from a communications giant. The Verizon Foundation will present a $10 thousand grant this afternoon to Lakeview Assisted Living in Oconee County’s rural Five Forks community. The company’s Julie Smith said, “Verizon’s $10,000 grant will help support services at Lakeview Assisted Living Facility, including professional and caring resident assistants, daily activities and regular socials for residents, medication management, physical and occupational therapy, and transportation.” The non-profit facility is part of the SENIOR Solutions organization. Scheduled to be present for this afternoon’s 2 o’clock ceremony are Lieutenant Governor Glenn McConnell, Senator Thomas Alexander, County Council Chairman Joel Thrift and other council members.
