100 Deadly Days Has Begun

The South Carolina Department of Public safety has launched its 100 Deadly Days of Summer campaign. Safety officials say the Memorial Day weekend marks the beginning of the 100 Deadly Days which falls between Memorial Day and Labor day. Officials say fatalities increase during this time due to heavy traffic from vacationers and the increase in motorcycle riders. Troopers have stepped up patrols during this weekend and will continue increased patrols until midnight Monday night. The SCDPS has also launched its Buckle Up SC campaign which focuses on seatbelt usage. The department of public safety has placed a special emphasis on seat belt usage and DUI arrests.
