$100 thousand grant on the way

Walhalla’s re-opened swimming pool is going to benefit from an influx of money from the state level. City leaders soon expect the resident state senator, Thomas Alexander, to bring home the bacon—a $100 thousand dollar grant from the state Department of Health and Environmental Control. The primary purpose for the grant is to adapt the W. Main Street pool to modern-day requirements for the disabled, but City Administrator Nancy Goehle said grant officials are receptive to Walhalla using part of the money for other projects at the pool.
