18 firms buy plans for GCCP sewer

An early indication has been received as to the interest that contractors may have in undertaking the Oconee County sewer project from the Golden Corner Commerce Park to the county treatment plant. According to a report this morning, 18 companies have bought sets of plans outlining a project of two different sized pipes along SC 59 from Seneca to the park location at Fair Play. Robyn Courtright, county procurement director, said this afternoon’s meeting is not mandatory for all who plan to actually bid for the work on September 12, but it is part of the pre-bid process. The size of the project, involving more than 50 thousand linear feet of 10 and 12-inch line, is expected to attract interest from contractors with experience in large projects.
