“2015 is going to look good”

For a couple of months, there has been ebb and flow in the Oconee County jobless rate—-6.7% in July to 7.3% in August, the last month for which the state reports figures. But Richard Blackwell predicts the local job picture will get better by year’s end and during 2015. Economic development recruiter Blackwell indicated to his board of directors today job-creation announcements are in the pipeline, including the code-named project “CUBE” which has a Clemson University connection. Blackwell also talked up project “Ticker” which he says will mean an investment of $13 million and 50 new jobs.
