2nd person arrested in store incident near Clemson

The woman who ran across a four-lane highway to avoid Oconee deputies has apparently turned herself over to authorities in her home North Carolina county. And she’s now in the custody of Oconee County authorities in Walhalla. The Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Keri Ann Gibson Messick of Lowell, North Carolina on four charges: resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, unlawful carrying a pistol, and possessing a weapon without authorization. The 21-year old Messick, along with a companion, was being questioned June 18 by county deputies investigating an argument at the gas pumps at the Bountyland Quik Stop on highway 123 near Clemson. According to the sheriff’s office, the gun that Gibson is charged with possessing was stolen in Greenville County. Messick’s companion, John Harvey Hunter of Spartanburg, was arrested on the store property and charged with unlawful carrying a pistol, possessing a weapon without authorization, and giving false information to a law enforcement officer. The 26-year old Hunter also received a traffic ticket for public disorderly conduct.
