Levelized utility billing pursued by Seneca

Seneca utility officials are pursuing a system of levelized billing service for costumers.  Levelized billing would be optional.  The city’s utilities committee this morning approved Director Bob Faires’ request to make a recommendation to the city council.  Averaging monthly bills avoids large swings.  Light and water would use the amount that a customer would owe for the current month, add it to the previous 11 months, to determine an average utility cost.  The average is considered a “rolling average” which means the bill will always be the average of the current month’s usage added to the previous 11 months.
