49er’s backup QB Colin Kaepernick eludes Bear defenders Monday night in San Francisco.

The San Francisco 49ers hammered the Chicago Bears 32-7 in Monday Night Football Monday night in San Francisco. With 49ers quarterback Alex Smith sitting out the game with a concussion, backup Colin Kaepernick led the team in his first career start, going 16 of 23 for 243 yards with two touchdowns. The Bears’ regular quarterback, Jay Cutler, also missed the game due to a concussion, so backup Jason Campbell was the starter. He wasn’t as successful, though, going 14 for 22 for 107 yards and one touchdown, but getting sacked five times and intercepted twice.
