64-year old man loses life

Georgia troopers have released the name of the Tennessee man killed in yesterday’s head-on crash on highway 76 east from Clayton. Walter Johns Richards Jr. of Murfreesboro lost his life when, for unknown reasons, according to the patrol, his car crossed the centerline near New Hope Church Road. Richards’ car, headed toward Clayton, collided with a vehicle driven by Keith Hunter Grewe, 60 years old, of Salem, South Carolina. Richards died at the scene, while Grewe and his passenger, 18-year old Salem resident Jessica Burns, were airlifted to Asheville, North Carolina’s Mission Hospital. They were described as having upper extremity injuries.
