“A-COG” boss gets a look at Oconee

Oconee County played host recently to a special visitor. The executive director of the Appalachian Regional Commission in Washington, Scott Hamilton, got a tour of the county a month and a half ago, with State Senator Thomas Alexander helping to guide the visitor. According to Richard Blackwell of Oconee Economic Alliance, the trip was beneficial to both Hamilton and to Oconee, to allow him to see an area where ARC grants have brought benefit. And Blackwell said it was good for Hamilton to see the long-talked about Sanctuary Pointe property on I-85 in the event ARC is asked to help facilitate the project with funding.
