“A long time coming,” Moulder said

Encouraged by the dollar figures he heard at yesterday’s bid opening, the Oconee County administrator today said the Golden Corner Commerce Park sewer bids should be evaluated in time for a recommendation for action during Tuesday’s meeting the county council. The agenda is crafted in a way for a recommendation to be voted Tuesday and, according to Scott Moulder, a notice to proceed the following day. Critics have called the park at Fair Play a hayfield, but Moulder and other county officials say they are starting to be pleased about the prospects there for water, sewer, and electric services. Moulder envisions the start of phase one of the park development and saving the county as much as a $500 thousand by grading the property with in-house labor.
