A one-on-one at the Civic Auditorium

Oconeeans crowded a meeting room at the Walhalla Civic Auditorium for a chance to size up the two men seeking the District Two seat on the County Council.  On one side of the table was Wayne McCall, the incumbent who is trying for a third, 4-year term.  On the other, Jared Ketterman, the challenger.  In between was Keith Denny who moderated the forum and posed questions submitted in advance to the chamber of commerce.  In last night’s forum, held to one hour, both men gave histories of their working careers, along with the philosophies they would bring to government service.  When asked to say what they’d like to see accomplished, McCall stressed re-cycling as one of his top priorities.  Ketterman wants Oconee County to do a better job communicating with its citizens about government.
