A stadium may come Walhalla’s way

The current Walhalla High sports a football stadium with a panoramic view of the mountains. And the school is line for a brand new stadium as part of the complex that’ll make for the new high school on highway 11—now under construction. Those stadiums may be factors in leading the county school board of trustees to deed a third stadium to the city of Walhalla. The third stadium is Memorial Stadium downtown—now used by the city recreation department for soccer and football games. City Administrator Nancy Goehle says city games are played there, as part of a lease deal with the school district. But, at their meeting Monday, county trustees will be asked to discuss transferring the downtown stadium to the city.
