A week of in jail and out of jail

August 9, 2013

For one Oconee man, it has been a week of in jail, out of jail, and back in jail. Sheriff’s officers report Leamon Grant Phillips, 62, of Loop Road, Westminster was arrested on two occasions this week—charged with shoplifting and obtaining goods under false pretense. By early afternoon yesterday, according to the Sheriff’s Office, Phillips remained in custody at the Oconee Detention Center under a surety bond of $12,130. As many as four Oconee businesses are listed as the crime victims.
