Additional arrests in drug sweep

Six additional drug suspects have been apprehended in what Oconee Sheriff’s Office calls “Operation Ice Chizel.”  Yesterday’s announcement states that the six bring to 14 the number of those who have been rounded up so far.  Sheriff Mike Crenshaw said, “This drug round-up is focused on our continued efforts to further disrupt the distribution and trafficking of methamphetamine in Oconee County.”   In all, 21 people were being sought on drug charges.  Among those arrested so far suspects from search warrants on Seneca’s E-S 2nd Street and a home on Snead Road near Walhalla.   According to the Sheriff’s Office, the execution of the Snead Road search warrant netted weapons, drugs, and cash.
