Adult education switching to computer tests

A sea change ahead in the testing method for the high school equivalent of a diploma through adult education. Beginning after the first of 2014, the test for the GED will be computer-based only. After January, no more paper tests will be administered. In the interim, Oconee Adult Education is accepting students free of charge through December. The county program is located in the Code Learning Center in Seneca. Those interested should contact Gene Williams at 886-4429 or by email at [email protected]. The GED is a test that measures proficiency in science, mathematics, social studies, reading and writing. Passing it gives those who did not complete high school the chance to earn their high school equivalency credential.
