After 30 years, an observation or two

This reporter can still remember the day 30 years ago that I walked into WGOG for the first time as an employee. From the parking lot into the building my legs trembled in anticipation of something new. But the discomfort quickly vanished as I eventually settled into my chosen field—local radio news reporting in a small community. My employer yesterday gave me a luncheon to mark 30 years—an achievement that I never would have imagined. My thanks go to the kind people who took time from their schedules yesterday to enjoy the accomplishment with me—including those who said some words in my behalf. It has been fun and I hope to continue for as long as I can do the work. (Dick Mangrum)
