Agenda set for Oconee County Council

The first week of February will be a week for important business for the Oconee County Council.  At council’s regular meeting at 6 Tuesday night, a variety of business awaits the five-member panel that sets policy for county government.  Those matters include the annual financial report from the county’s outside auditors and a presentation by Charles Lutz on Senate Bill 672 Medical Marijuana.  The council has scheduled the second of two required readings to settle its lawsuit with Hangar III LLC along with an executive session to discuss the case that alleges the failure to pay back taxes for a corporate airplane.  Tuesday night is also the time for council to consider ordering a new bookmobile at a cost of $215 thousand.  The bookmobile would replace a 1997 vehicle with more than 96 thousand miles.  County Council has set aside Friday next week for its annual retreat meeting.
