Agreement to settle sewer differences

After a closed-door session, the Oconee County Council reached agreement to end years of squabbling with the Joint Regional Sewer Authority.  The county will now pay the sewer authority $1.9 million dollars.  That’s around three years worth of $610 thousand dollars of payments that the county held back as part of a dispute over a previous inter-government agreement that required the payments annually through the year 2038.  Council Chairman Paul Cain believes it’s a good settlement.
