Alexander happy to stay mayor

Seneca’s near 20-year mayor has removed himself from any thought that he might use the 2014 election year to make a jump in politics. After last night’s special council meeting, Dan Alexander knocked down the rumors that he’s been thinking about the Seneca seat on Oconee County Council. Alexander told 96.3./WGOG NEWS he will not be a candidate for County Council Seat Three, and he made clear he’s happy to remain as mayor of Oconee’s largest municipality. Alexander is in the midst of his latest four-year term and his office will not be voted on until Seneca’s 2016 election.
