All Clemson water customers should conserve

Water supplies are running extremely low this morning in the City of Clemson, Clemson University, the Town of Pendleton and Sandy Springs Water District—the result of yesterday’s failure of the raw water line at the water plant. The need to conserve remains important, along with the need to boil water for a full minute before using it for drinking or cooking. The City of Clemson has taken a limited supply of water from the adjoining Town of Central, but Clemson is calling for conservation until the Anderson Regional Joint Water System can pump a sustainable amount of water. That’s now expected around 4 this afternoon. The city is asking everyone to be prudent and not to use any water that is not essential. You are asked to report any water leaks immediately. A return to normal will be posted once an adequate level returns to the storage tanks. They expect the boil water advisory to remain in effect until tomorrow afternoon.
