America makes it choice!

After being shut out the last two elections, Republicans are re-gaining the White House.  And they’ve done it with a government outsider who vows to make changes.  Donald Trump gave his winner’s speech around 3 this morning.  Trump was able to parlay strong support from rural voting, including Oconee County, South Carolina where the voters unofficially gave him 71.8% of the vote as compared with Democrat Hillary Clinton’s 23.8.  Oconeeans gave the district’s Republican member of the U-S House, Jeff Duncan, 77.6% compared to his challenger from Oconee, Democrat Hosea Cleveland, who received 22%.  In non-partisan elections, Denise McCormick cruised to a new term as the District Four school board member with 65.7% of the vote.  Her challenger, Patrick James, tallied 33.8%.  Don Chamberlain and Bill Griffiths won seats on the Keowee Fire District Commission.  Oconeeans were motivated to vote.  Nearly 67 and one-quarter of eligible county voters cast ballots.
