An “all-clear” for OMC’s Lila Doyle

A state re-inspection of Oconee Medical Center’s Lila Doyle nursing and rehabilitation facility this week resulted in an all-clear finding. And it means, according to spokesman Jim Beasley of the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control that Lila Doyle’s plan of correction was satisfactorily implemented, returning the facility to compliance, “and the denial of payment restriction for new Medicare/Medicaid residents was removed.” Hunter Kome, OMC chief operating officer, said last week, “During the most recent routine survey at Lila Doyle, surveyors found documentation in a resident’s nursing chart that the resident had chewed on a glove. The glove was intact and the resident was not harmed….” Kome had expressed confidence that DHEC would find Lila Doyle’s corrective plan of action satisfactory and that there would be no impact on payments.
