An award for Oconee’s economic development recruiter

In his capacity as exectuive director of Oconee Economic Alliance, Richard Blackwell frequently pursues tax credit incentives to lure jobs and retain existing jobs.  Blackwell is being recognized by a national organization that advocates new markets tax credit.  He is to receive a Public Executive of the Year Award June 2 in Washington, D-C at the Novogradac New Markets Tax Credit Conference.  At that meeting, two lawmakers also receive Community Development Individual Achievement Awards.  Senator Ben Cardin, Maryland Democrat, receives the Federal Legislator of the Year and Brad Wilson, Utah state representative, receives State Legislator of the Year Award.  According to Novogradac and Company, the awards recognize those who have shown substantial assistance to advance new markets tax credit policy and legislative priorities that benefit community development.
