Anderson residents charged in Oconee theft

Johelen Maria Derrick Justin Brent Kirby

The apprehension of a 24-year old man is the first of what the Oconee Sheriff’s Office hopes will be the arrests of two Anderson residents who allegedly took a contractor’s equipment last summer in Oconee County.  Authorities say Justin Brent Kirby was arrested during the weekend and charged with grand larceny in the theft of a 2015 dual axle dump trailer, worth $5,500 dollars.  The dump trailer, belonging to Integrity Builders, was reported stolen between July 17 and 20 from a construction site at 129 South Port Drive near Seneca.  The Sheriff’s Office also announced it has a warrant for the arrest of a second Anderson resident—41-year old Johleen Maria Derrick.  If you have information on the whereabouts of Derrick, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers.  You don’t have to give your name.  If your tip leads to an arrest, you could be eligible for a cash reward.
