Andy Lee remembers his hometown

San Francisco’s All-Pro punter and Westminster native Andy Lee.

All-pro San Francisco 49er punter Andy Lee is remembering his hometown of Westminster. Lee and 49er teammate Aldon Smith each received an equipment grant valued at $1,500 from USA Football to donate to the youth or high school program of their choice. Lee will award his grant to Westminster Recreation Department’s Youth Football League, where he played as a youngster. Herb Poole, Westminster recreation director, said, “Receiving this grant allows us to update our equipment for the upcoming season. Also, this grant lets us recognize one of our own and reminds our young athletes that the dreams of being a professional athlete are within reach no matter your location. Small town Westminster has produced one of the best players in the NFL and the next best professional athlete could be right here benefiting from this grant.”
