“Another Debbie DuBose”

A department head change at Oconee Medical Center. Jeanne Ward, president/CEO, announced during last night’s board meeting Cortni Nations will succeed Debbie DuBose as executive director of the OMC Foundation. The foundation serves as the private sector fund-raising arm for the hospital and its services. Most recently, Nations has directed the Mountain Lakes AccessHealth project. That program boasts a 70% reduction in emergency visits among its participants and a 54% reduction in costs. And Nations, a Pickens County native, led an effort to raise private support including more than $200 thousand for a community dental clinic. Though retiring, DuBose will still be involved with OMC in what Ward called “special projects.” One of the final gifts to the foundation reported by DuBose is a $104 thousand bequest from a Keowee Key couple. DuBose says the bequest by the late Wesley and Margaret Coon is an unrestricted gift for the benefit of the OMC Hospice of the Foothills.
