An anonymous reward has been announced in the 36 and a half year old unsolved homicide of a rural Oconee County businessman. The Sheriff’s Office announces the reward is posted for a tip that leads to the arrest and conviction of who killed Marcus Lee December 8, 1986 in a robbery attempt at the Lee home, near Richland and N. Seed Farm roads. Officers believe Lee knew who killed him. Over the years, however, leads have dried up. Sheriff Mike Crenshaw has said, “I believe there is someone out there that has the missing pieces our investigators need….For whatever reason, they never came forward.” Tips or information should be called to the Sheriff’s Office at 864/638-4111.
