April announcement ahead for Oconee economic projects

The secrecy surrounding an Oconee economic development project code-named “Project Mold” will be lifted in early April, according to an announcement made today by the director of the county’s Economic Alliance.  Richard Blackwell predicted that Oconee County Council will give final reading to the project April 7 and it’s likely an official announcement will follow the next day by the state Department of Commerce.  So far the project has been described this way:  “This existing firm has decided to expand in Oconee.  It will result in an about 30,000 sq. ft. addition, $6M in capital investment and 30+ new jobs.”
