Arrest made in fiber optics theft

Oconee Sheriff’s Office reports an arrest in a case of stolen fiber optics equipment. More arrests are anticipated. A 44-year old Seneca man, James Gus Orr Jr., was arrested Friday by sheriff’s officers and charged with receiving stolen goods. The theft in June from Jet Commercial on Seneca’s Wells Highway remains under investigation. Fiber optics equipment and tools worth $30 thousand dollars were taken. The Greer company, Network Controls, a company involved in Oconee’s Broadband FOCUS project is listed as the crime victim.
