Asbestos removal crews bound for Seneca property

Workers from an environmental service company are believed to be at Seneca’s Kellett property today, for the start of the removal of asbestos materials discovered there.  101.7/WGOG NEWS has been told that Greg Dietterick, city administrator, is planning to make an announcement about the asbestos removal work there. At a council meeting last month, nearby residents were told that that the city was in the process of securing a private contractor while DHEC was analyzing samples from the grounds.  At that meeting residents, such as former Councilman Bobby Laye, urged city leaders to determine who was responsible for placing the suspect materials there.
