Ash Tree counts “Matt” a success story

In the upstairs of what used to be a Main Street, Walhalla funeral home there is now space for classes that help men recover from alcohol and substance abuse. Ash Tree Men counts a 33-year old Oconeean named “Matt” whose life is changing for the better. Matt has learned work skills and will soon start a full-time job. He has taken classes in the Ash Tree Men’s program which occupies part of a three-story structure at 112 W. Main Street, formerly Davenport Funeral Home and a place of Walhalla history from as long ago as 1909. Christ Central Ministries operates Ash Tree Men’s program, as well as a thrift shop.
