Assault at Convenience Center

The Oconee Sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s assistance in finding an individual who committed an assault and battery at the Metromont Manned Convenience Center in Seneca Tuesday afternoon. Investigators say a deputy responded to a call to U-Storit Drive just off Old Clemson Highway Tuesday afternoon. The victim told deputies the suspect brought some items
to the convenience recycling center. The victim then asked the suspect to place the glass bottles in the right container, upon which the suspect became irate and violent and used profanity. The victim asked the suspect to leave, upon which the suspect shoved the victim and tackled the victim to the ground, where the victim scraped his wrist according to the incident report. Deputies say the victim had blood on his shirt, wrist, face and under his chin. A witness at the scene was threatened and left, but returned afterward. Witness describe the suspect as stocky with curly hair, probably in his 50s. The suspect is believed to be driving a pickup truck.
