Attempted murder case

The charge of attempted murder has arisen from an incident in a remote part of Oconee County. The Sheriff’s Office this afternoon announced the charge of attempted murder and one other charge against a 29-year old Mountain Rest man. After questioning, Matthew Thomas Moore of Little Road was jailed in the investigation of an incident at Moore’s home. There, authorities say, a guest was found bleeding from the throat and left arm. The arrest affidavit, signed by Sgt. Kevin Cain, alleges Moore used a pocket know to cut his house guest’s throat and left arm. Moore was also charged with possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. The victim was attended to by a deputy and then flown to the Greenville Memorial Hospital.
