Faith-based group receives approval!

Roadway blocked

At this hour, state troopers report an Oconee County roadway blocked to traffic because of an accident. The accident occurred shortly after 10 this morning at SC 11 and Armstrong Road near Westminster. Injuries are reported.

A lot of dust and dirt to clean up!

Workers at Walhalla’s Streetscape project are cleaning up and grading today getting ready for laying new curb and gutter on the Main Street block between Tugaloo and College streets.  On a second block, from College to Catherine, they continue to lay electrical conduit and the bases for the new light poles there.

Chest wound proved fatal

An autopsy, at which state police officers were present, shows the victim of Sunday night’s shooting in Seneca died of a wound to the chest.  Coroner Karl Addis said Zachary Hammond sustained a second wound to the collarbone, but that wound was not fatal.  Addis said the wounds are consistent with bullets from a .45-caliber…
