Weekend fire near Westminster

Fire started in a trailer home near Westminster and spread to a camper. No one reported hurt in the early Saturday morning fire on the Johnny Cox Road near U-S 76. The fire occurred inside the Westminster Fire District, and fire fighters were on the scene from 4 to approximately 8 a-m.

Presidential hopeful in Seneca

One of the many Republican hopefuls for President next year visits Seneca this morning. Mike Huckabee, a former Arkansas governor, is due to arrive between 11 and 11:30 this morning at the Seneca Family Restaurant on By-Pass 123. Curtis Auburn Smith

Curtis Auburn Smith, 71, of 18001 Mallard Bend Road, Seneca died Saturday, June 27 at his home.  He was the widower of Marica Leslie Morrison Smith.  He was a Texas native.  A memorial service will be held later.

Seneca Rotary doles out year-end awards

For many government workers, the holiday starts today

Today is OconeeCounty government’s official recognition of our independence from the mother country, and that means all offices except the essential public safety offices are closed.  Tri-CountyTechnicalCollege is closed today.  College offices reopen Monday at 8 a-m.  Today is a work day at ClemsonUniversity.  The university will observe Monday as a holiday.
