Arrested man under a $500K bond 

Oconee Sheriff’s Office announces seven charges of sex crimes with minors against a 55-year-old Westminster man.  By yesterday the accused, Joseph Wayne Ellis, remained in Oconee lockup, under a combined surety bond of $500 thousand dollars.  According to the sheriff’s office, investigation revealed two separate crime victims – one a child and one, at the time, a teenager.

Illegal camping charges

A man from Greenville and a woman from Easley were arrested and jailed this week in Oconee in a state game officer’s investigation of illegal camping on forest land, according to a spokesman for South Carolina DNR.  The jail booking report shows multiple charges against 27-year-old Corey West Quinn and 37-year-old Magen Charlene Doffee.
