The wounded Oconee deputy sheriff, Lucas Watts, continues to progress in his recovery in Atlanta.  And, according to announcement by Sheriff Crenshaw last night, Watts’ progress will allow him to return home later this month.  Watts was seriously wounded by gunfire during a chase late last year in a rural part of the county south of Westminster.

Pioneer Rural Water is fielding an offer to sell property.  At its meeting today, the board of directors entertained Scott Schaeffer’s offer to buy three acres at Tugaloo Heights.  Terry Pruitt, Pioneer general manager, said Schaeffer is offering $39 thousand for “basically a patch of woods.”  Schaeffer says the three acres would make for an idea outdoor play area for […]
