Beverly Whitfield is grappling with a decision.  The Oconee Clerk of Court is thinking about stepping down after her current term and retiring.  But she’s also thinking that she might offer for re-election.  Whitfield has a few days to contemplate.  The qualifying books for the primary elections do not open until Monday.

New marina approved for Lake Keowee

A decision by “FERC” – the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission – will allow a property owner’s association to build a new residential marina on the Pickens County side of Lake Keowee. Civil trial heads into second day

The plaintiff’s side continued to offer witnesses in the Oconee County trial of Mahlon Young Meredith versus Charlotte Tant Suddeth et al.  The dispute over a 2016 Walhalla car accident is being heard in the Common Pleas Court.  Last to testify yesterday was a Walhalla High student, Adrian Daniel Rose.  The trial resumes at 9 this morning.
