Word has reached 101.7/WGOG of an accident involving a large truck and a second vehicle near SC 28 and the Poplar Springs Road overhead bridge. The accident is believed to have tied up traffic on the West Union turn off in front of the Foothills Nursing facility.

Thanksgiving will be a quiet time for Seneca’s bus passenger service.  The “CAT” buses will not run Seneca routes either Thursday or Friday.

Authorities say the body of an unknown male was found today at a fire scene in the Utica Community near Seneca. Coroner Karl Addis says the victim in the house fire at 6 Lonsdale Street is presumed to have been a homeless individual. The Oconee Sheriff’s Office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division are investigating.
