Pedestrian killed in rural Oconee

A 44-year old Oconee man died Saturday night in a Greenville hospital. Authorities say Russell Alan Tupper was the pedestrian victim of a motor vehicle accident Thanksgiving Day night on Critter Road near SC 11. Coroner Karl Addis says Tupper died of a head injury. The highway patrol investigated.

Abandoned house fire in Utica

A late night house fire in the Utica Community near Seneca. According to Rural Fire Control, the house that caught fire was abandoned and no injuries resulted. The fire location was an empty house on James Street near Goddard Avenue. A fire at Lonsdale Street home last week in Utica took the life of a 27-year old man.
