Blood drive to benefit Animal Shelter

The Oconee Heritage Center in Walhalla ushered in 2015 with new and expanded hours. It’s an effort to better serve Oconee County residents and visitors. Head wound fatal to shooting victim

Shooting victim identified

A woman found shot dead last night inside a rural Oconee County home has been identified. Coroner Karl Addis said the victim was Kathy Elaine Owens, 54, of 100 Sunshine Circle, Apt. 42, Westminster. Addis says an autopsy will take place Sunday to help his office and the Sheriff’s Office with the death investigation.

Clemson wins recycling challenge

Green-conscious Clemson students topped a field of 90 colleges to win the 2014 Game Day Recycling Challenge by collecting more than 60 thousand pounds of recyclables.
