The Collins Children’s Home near Seneca has a new leader.  Kelly Ross, Oconee native, is the new director. Ross’s background includes West-Oak High graduate, army veteran, former CEO of the Foothills Care Center, and former staff member of the Piedmont Women’s Center in Greenville.  Her family is described pleased that she has returned to her home county.

In a city hall meeting, the Walhalla Fire Committee will discuss a request for a new pumper truck (KME Custon).  As committee chair, Councilwoman Sarai Melendez will hold the gavel at the 5 o’clock meeting.  Besides Melendez, the committee includes Councilman David Underwood and, as a non-voting member, Mayor Danny Edwards.
