Power was restored early last night in West Union.  The electric power outage, traced to a Main Street transformer, impacted some 926 Duke Energy customers.  The light failure at the Main Street/Highway 11 intersection prompted the mayor to ask that motorists treat the intersection as a 4-way stop.

If you are going up or down the mountain this morning, please drive with caution on SC 28–the Highlands Highway around the curves in the vicinity of the former Issqueena Restaurant.  A Dodge truck has wrecked after leaving the highway and there are multiple public safety responders and their vehicles at the scene.
