New and continuing students arrive next week at Clemson.  Each day–Monday, August 14-Saturday, August 19–students arrive between 8 am and 5:30 pm for scheduled move-in appointments.  Expect heavy traffic on the main campus–especially on highway 76 and Perimeter Road.  Before unloading, students for the new year will be routed to P-8 parking lot to check-in and receive room keys.

In a workshop meeting, West Union Town Council members will put their heads together to plan a new Main Street park.  The workshop meeting will be 10 o’clock Monday morning at town hall.

Power was restored early last night in West Union.  The electric power outage, traced to a Main Street transformer, impacted some 926 Duke Energy customers.  The light failure at the Main Street/Highway 11 intersection prompted the mayor to ask that motorists treat the intersection as a 4-way stop.
