How to go about the filling of Tyler Jordan’s Walhalla council seat is not all that county elections will be figuring out this year.  2023 is an election year for the county’s five municipalities.  And the qualifying date for the various mayor and council seats starts in August, with all five non-partisan elections to take place in November.

A Walhalla councilman called it quits today in his first term in office.  Tyler Jordan is stepping away for career and family reasons.  In an interview, he explained he’s leaving now with the hope the city will continue moving forward and does not rule out a return to politics in the future.

Clemson’s Calhoun Street between College Street and Pickens Street will be closed Wednesday and Thursday to remove trees.  The tree removal will take place in advance of sidewalk and storm drainage work that’ll start there the week of July 10.

Faced with losing its administrator by his July 27 resignation, Walhalla City Council is being asked to gather for a special 5:30 Thursday meeting at city hall.  One agenda item:  “Contractual/personnel matter regarding City Administrator.”
