The board that sets policy for an Oconee-Anderson water supplier meets next week in Oakway.  On the agenda for the meeting of the board of Pioneer Rural Water District are the election of officers, along with financial and system reports.  The Pioneer board meets at 3 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, July 11 at its Oakway headquarters.

For Oconee cat owners who are in need, free pet food is available at the Humane Society adopting center at 1925 Sandifer Boulevard, Seneca 10- am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday and 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday.  Available are boxes of Meow Mix variety packs of wet food.

The police in Seneca say they found a dog, a sawed-off shotgun, and drug paraphernalia last week inside an illegally parked car in the driveway of a home in the Madison Pointe subdivision.  A 31-year old Utica man, Andrew Wilson Potts of Lonsdale Street, was jailed Saturday on the following charges:  possession of a sawed-off shotgun, parking on private property […]

Public safety authorities summoned Red Cross last night to the scene of a home fire near Westminster.  The Red Cross is assisting those people displaced by a home fire on Sandy Lane in the vicinity of the Clearmont Community.  Fire authorities were alerted to the fire shortly before 8:45 last night.

As of 1:30 pm today, Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative had 24 members without electric service related to yesterday’s severe thunderstorm and all situated in Oconee County. Repair crews are presently on site at this trouble spot.
