David Underwood confirms talk he will stand down at Walhalla election time this fall.  “12 years are enough (three terms),” Councilman Underwood tells 101.7/WGOG NEWS.  This November Walhalla voters choose a mayor and fill three seats on the six-member council.

Senator Tim Scott, South Carolina Republican, addressed the administration’s secretary of state for political affairs during a Washington hearing.  In front of the diplomat in a Washington hearing, Scott expressed concern about foreign policy failures leading to the crisis in Sudan.  And he was critical of the State Department’s inability to swiftly evacuate Americans when violence erupted in Khartoum.
