Scam alert issued by Pickens County Sheriff’s Office

Some Pickens County residents have received calls from someone who purports to represent the county sheriff’s office and accuses those he’s called of missing jury duty.  It’s a scam.  According to Pickens Sheriff’s Office, juror summons are sent by certified mail inside a Pickens County Sheriff’s Office envelope.  The sheriff’s office won’t contact anyone by phone regarding a juror summons.  […]

Car crashes into downtown business

A car crashed through the front of a Ramcat Alley business in downtown Seneca.  The elderly couple inside the car was not hurt, nor was anyone inside the First Chapter bookstore at the time last night.  The couple was on Ramcat Alley last night to celebrate a birthday.  The heavily-damaged building belongs to Mayor Dan Alexander.
