Special West Union meeting

Councilman-elect Doug Moore takes the oath of office during a 6 o’clock meeting of the West Union Town Council. At this special meeting, the mayor and council also receive “presentation of candidate for Police Chief.” West Union’s only two officers are resigning and are in the process of working notices.

Car accident in Long Creek

State troopers reported roadway blocked this morning at Long Creek–the result of a car accident at U-S 76 and the Brasstown Road.  A report to 96.3/WGOG NEWS indicates two cars were involved–one of which wound up turned over in a ditch.  Long Creek Fire Department is among the responders to the accident at 9:39 a-m.
